Portland Roach square lamp with black douppion silk lampshade, braided cable, complementary antique brass fittings and an embedded mason’s mark of authentication.
The bold shape of this lamp immediately draws your eye’s attention to the beauty of the natural stone material, something that’s always one of Ian’s priorities when designing. Thanks to the tactile nature of stone as a material, our lamps are equally pleasing to the touch and to the eye.
Each block of British stone is specially selected then by our award-winning craftsmen to be hand-worked and finished, allowing them to always ensure the absolute finest quality in their craft. The front chamfer of the lamp both both softens and accentuates the design, while also creating a shadow. Finally, the finished stone is hand-honed and sealed to create a surprisingly warm feel.
We have paid great attention to detail, finishing the lamp with a braided cable, complementary antique brass fittings and our mason’s mark of authentication, a solid bronze coin, set into the back of the base.
Thanks to the nature of stone as a material, the subtle variations in the stone and the fabric of the handmade, bespoke, silk shades ensure that every lamp is unique.
