Ian Knapper launches new showroom, exclusively at Robeys - Oct 2007

Ian Knapper, recognised as one of the UK’s top designers in stone, will officially open his first showroom on Saturday November 17th at Robeys of Belper in Derbyshire.

Over recent years, Ian Knapper has built an enviable reputation as a leading designer of bespoke stone fireplaces and staircases.  His work is now in demand nationally, with commissions regularly taken from royalty, rock stars, sports personalities and many famous names.

His designs regularly take stone into a completely new dimension, with his award-winning team of stonemasons bringing the ideas to life in contemporary, flamboyant and traditional compositions.

Prompted by an increasing demand for his work, Ian, who works closely with specialist retailer Mark Robey, has taken the opportunity to develop a new collection, which will be on permanent display at the remarkable Robeys facility in Belper.

“We have experienced a phenomenal increase in business nationally and it seemed a natural development to have a permanent collection on display that people could visit”, said Ian. 

“I am regularly asked if we have a showroom so this will provide a great focal point to showcase our work.  It will be a truly unique experience with brand new fireplace and staircase designs on show for the first time. Mark Robey has created a retail facility which undoubtedly sets new standards in presentation and this is the ideal location for our venture”, Ian added.

Managing Director of Robeys, Mark Robey, said that Ian’s decision to create a showroom was a natural extension to their relationship.  “We have been selling a range of Ian’s fireplace designs for a number of years and the demand is always there.  His work is stunning and we see great potential to develop our relationship with Ian creating further exclusive designs for us to market”.

“Robeys has recently opened a 15,000 square feet purpose built showroom which operates on two floors and Ian has taken a prominent position on the first floor. It’s a very exciting development and sure to create great interest with our customers”, Mark concluded.
